DC-Connect is a unique system enabling tool, that dramatically simplifies the process of updating iSeries applications. Data collected from any source; be it shop floor data collection terminals, or hand held terminals in the warehouse or data collected via a Web Browser, once the data is available on the iSeries DC-Connect can reformat and process the data, in real-time, into any iSeries application.

Any iSeries Application

No matter whether it is Package software, Bespoke software or anything in between, DC-Connect can transfer the data into any iSeries application. It does this by running the data against a script (just like a film script), which defines to DC-Connect what to do with the data. It may sound complex but it is not, DC-Connect removes the complexity, allowing you the flexibility of a high-level script language to fine tune the integration process.

Script Driven Process

The DC-Connect Script defines exactly where the data is to go, what host programs are to be evoked and how error situations are to be managed. Our unique open Script language is simple to learn and allows you complete flexibility.

Typically, Crown Computing staff develop the initial scripts for you, then you have the option of developing your own scripts. Literally in a matter of days your staff could be developing new scripts.

Note that to develop your own scripts you will need to purchase the Development licence of DC-Connect, rather than just the Run Licence.

Simplifying the entry of data on the iSeries

Packages sometimes, to be flexible, can end up displaying complex screens to confused users. DC-Connect allows you to provide to your users a simple specific fast data entry screens. Once the data is entered, DC-Connect can then be automatically invoked to process this simply collected data into the complex package screens without the user needing to do anything.

EDI or Web Data Transfer onto the iSeries

Data such as sales orders sent via EDI, or Web collected, can be transferred onto your iSeries where DC-Connect can then automatically update your host application.
